Overview
Stroke is a medical condition that occurs when the blood supply to a part of the brain is interrupted or reduced, preventing brain tissue from getting the necessary oxygen and nutrients. This can lead to brain cells dying within minutes. There are two main types of stroke: ischemic, caused by a blood clot, and hemorrhagic, caused by bleeding in or around the brain.
